Scooter Rental Requirements New to Scooting on a Scooter: Don’t worry. We will give you instructions and tips on riding our scooters. Our convenient alley launch location offers you a low traffic place to do a little practice scooting before you leave. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re there to help. Requirements: Following are the requirements to rent a scooter: You must be 18 years of age to rent a scooter. If under 21, you must not have any moving violations on your driving record. You need a major credit card. You must wear a safety helmet which we provide free of charge. Please wear sneakers (not flip-flops) A valid driver’s license is required (motorcycle endorsement is not required for our scooters). Agree to rental terms & conditions and sign rental contract. A reservation requires a $45 non-refundable deposit which is applied to your total rental charges. Please return your scooter with a full tank or you can choose to add a $5 fuel charge. Security deposit required on all scooters. Insurance: Scooter Joe’s provides basic liability coverage as part of your scooter rental (additional details on our rental agreement). Your auto policy may offer additional liability coverage beyond what we provide (check with your insurance carrier). As the renter, you are responsible for any damage to a scooter. We authorize your credit card for a $300 damage deposit at the time of rental. Fuel Option: Please return your scooter by the return date and time with a full tank. At time of rentaly, you can choose the refueling option and we will fill the tank, including gas for $3. Rental Return: If you are more than 10 minutes late past your expected arrival time, an additional hourly rate of $25 will be applied to your credit card for each partial or full hour you are late. If you know you are going to be late, please call us to request an extension to your rental contract. If another renter has not reserved the scooter you are using, we will extend your rental term.
